Our New Centre

The development of the Llandudno Centre is essential if St Dunstan’s is to help more ex-Service personnel in need of specialist support in ways which will provide the most benefit.  Development and refurbishment work will commence there in the summer. St Dunstan’s will work as quickly as possible to open the facility and estimates a timescale of mid to late 2011.

Llandudno
New centre in Llandudno

The Centre’s location will make introductory visits much more accessible for many St Dunstaners and, as a former hospital, the building is ideally suited to our needs.

Forty comfortable bedrooms, two lounges, a dining room and a bar will cater for visitors attending training courses or staying for short holidays or respite care.

We plan to offer a full range of services and facilities, including IT and ROVI* resources, a gymnasium and a craft room and 50-60 carefully selected staff will ensure the centre runs smoothly.

The Centre will be designed and run with the needs of the blind and visually impaired as a priority.

The new Centre will be invaluable in helping us to meet the needs of the ever increasing numbers of St Dunstaners. We shall be able to provide help and support to more beneficiaries, enabling them to adapt to their loss of sight, regain their independence and achieve a better quality of life. We also hope that our presence in Llandudno will make a useful contribution to the town and surrounding area.
