On Saturday 8th May, the 65th anniversary of VE Day, St Dunstaner Norman Perry, blinded during the Second World War will be laying a wreath during the Whitehall Ceremony to mark the day.

Norman, 90, who was a Sergeant Major with the Royal Artillery will be accompanied by Mr Gordon Gray. Norman has no sight at all after being hit by shrapnel when under fire in the Sahara desert in 1941. After becoming a St Dunstaner in 1942, Norman is now a permanent resident at our Ovingdean Centre. St Dunstaner Arthur Carter, 86 is the Standard bearer for St Dunstan’s he will be accompanied by Major Adrian Goland. Arthur, a former Petty Officer in the Royal Navy lives in Lancashire. He has been a St Dunstaner since 1944. Arthur regularly acts as the standard bearer for St Dunstan’s.
