What your money can buy

At St Dunstan's we currently admit over 500 new blind veterans into the charity each year but there are many more who need our help and demand for our services is ever increasing.  With your help, we can work to reach even more people, and grant many more visually impaired ex-Service men and women their independence back.

The money you raise can be spent in a wide variety of ways, making a huge difference to the many blind and visually impaired veterans across the UK.  Here are just a few examples of where your money goes:

  • £100 buys a talking colour detector
  • £500 buys a specialist computer package with speech software
  • £1,000 buys a desktop video magnifier for those with low vision
  • £5,000 provides 10 new beneficiaries with the relevant sight-loss equipment
  • £10,000 provides care for 30 beneficiaries for an entire year
  • £40,000 pays for 20 new beneficiaries to attend our training and rehabilitation week
  • £65,000 covers the yearly costs of one of our regional welfare offices
  • £100,000 buys one high dependency nursing bed
